Apple Cider Helper

This morning, my realtor-turned-best-friend held a simple client appreciation event: donuts and apple cider drive-thru in the parking lot of her under-remodel office. It was a cold 55F and misting. Not my ideal weather, but definitely worth attending.

My friend has two children—a 9 year-old girl and 5 year-old boy—whom my four year-old adores. It was great to see my friend and say hi, but I knew she’d be busy greeting all her other clients. My daughter really wanted to play with her friends, and we stayed there a good while.

I watched Mikaela interact with her friends. They ran and played, warmed themselves by the little portal fire pit, and ate donuts. When more clients started to slowly drive in and through, all three of the kids went to work. They were taking orders, gathering donuts and cider cups, and delivering them to the cars while my realtor-friend greeted her clients. It was such a joy to watch Mikaela in her element.

You see, Mikaela is my little social butterfly and she’s basically an only child (her brothers are adults now). Having this type of interaction and responsibility with friends is great for her development and I couldn’t be more grateful for such friendships.
