9 Podcasts for a Better Day
I started listening to podcasts a few months ago. I’m not really sure how or why I made the shift from music to podcasts, but it’s made my life better in a different way.
I’ve listed 9 podcasts I’ve binged and listen to often: daily, or weekly, depending on release.
1. A Bit of Optimism with Simon Sinek Who couldn’t use a bit more optimism in their day? Simon shares his conversations with various people and friends who inspire him. Some of them are hilarious and others are heartbreaking.
2. Science vs. I love science! This show digs into the science behind various claims and “finds out what’s fact, what’s not, and what’s somewhere in between,” as the show’s description describes, on topics such as chronic pain, true love, and more. If you’re like me and love to know how something works, then this show is for you. One caveat, just in case: some episodes are explicit.
3. Dare to Lead with Brené Brown is based on her of the same title. In this show, she discusses various topics with different experts who’ve accomplished great things, who, in her words, “show up, step up, and dare to lead.”
4. TravelPulse Podcast I’m an independent travel agent because I love to travel the world and help others have the best experiences as they travel. Eric Bowman, Executive Editor of TravelPulse, discusses travel news and tips weekly.
5. The Life Coach School Podcast was created by Master Life Coach Brooke Castillo. While the aim seems to be to help the listener develop skills to become a life coach, I have found it quite helpful in my own personal growth and development. I often listen to an episode two or three times to really “get it.”
6. Unlocking Us with Brené Brown is another great podcast she hosts. She hosts guests whose stories help us, the listeners, examine our own vulnerabilities.
7. TED Climate addresses big climate issues in ways that make it seem like we really can make a difference by focusing on real solutions. I love how many people have such great ideas!
8. TED Talks Daily features a wide variety of speakers and topics in typical TED style. I love listening to so many people share their perspectives with me, the listener, and help shape my own perspective on life.
9. Why It Matters is a great podcast that comes from the brilliant minds at the Council on Foreign Relations and covers important current events shaping our future.
I put these in no particular order, just basically as they popped into my head.
